It’s a message I’ve been attempting to get across to travellers for years. It’s become my own, personal mantra. I’ve recently made it an Instagram hashtag. I’ll shout it from the rooftops, if I have to…
“One day is not enough to fully experience all the wonders that Orvieto has to offer!”
the food.

Pretty cauliflower

Umbrichelli al tartufo nero

gelato on the steps of the Duomo di Orvieto
the wine.

Barberani Foresco red

white wines anyone?

a little Prosecco to take the edge off
the art and culture.

Luca Signorelli’s Masterpiece

Famous rooster ceramic pitchers

Christmas magic
the lifestyle.

Ahhh, life is good.

Transport

Parades
and the people.

Cheese, please.

Keeping up with the news.

Friends with boots.

You’re one of Orvieto’s best “customers.” See you soon, Margaret.
Thank you for sharing a bit of Orvieto with us!!!! :Hope to make it there next year.
I hope so too. Toni
Orvieto is where you spend a month and make some day trips to Roma!
Right on, Elena! 🙂 toni
We spent a week there at Thanksgiving a few years ago and it was magical. We still communicate with the wonderful woman we rented from. We still call Orvieto our favorite place in the world. Thanks for the post and the memories.
Come back soon, Margaret! toni
In our travels to Italy, our priorities have always been: a new wine every day, or a winery visit; visit at least one beautiful church every day; one relaxing main meal daily of the region; and enjoy some amount of fine art daily. Orvieto will give you all of that ie: Orvieto Classico, the Duomo and Signorelli’s Chapel; lunch outside in the piazza duomo; and the museum of Orvieto’s Opera del Duomo. Everything that you could ask for.
Thanks Roger. You’re someone who knows the value of slow travel and Orvieto is the perfect spot to do that. See you next time.Toni
Che bello! Brava Toni!

Grazie amico mio. t
We love spending two months there. This year beginning May 24th. See you at Cafe del Corso. I’m the old guy with a laptop.

I adore Orvieto. I dream of an extended stay in the future. Every time I go, I can’t wait to return. Thanks for the little dose of Orvieto…it’s time to return!
Ciao Michele, We are waiting for you….

Ciao! My family of three just visited Orvieto to see if we loved it enough to move there. We do! We met a friend of yours, Abel (another expat). Our sites are set on fall. Mid October of everything goes well. We’re in Rovigo now. I’d love to chat via email if you’re available. 🙂
Grazie
