Right and don’t ask me what precision tool the Roman armies used to measure distance with (feet sounds like it as we still use it today!), but if you noticed the road signs in Bolsena’s main Piazza they read Rome 113 Km (South) and Siena 113Km North placing my Tuscia hometown smack in the middle of the Via Cassia route!
